About the Role

Instructor Responsibilities:
- Completion of P.E.A.C.E Program instructor training
- Independent contractor part-time position (1099)
- Entering police station security
- Classroom setup; music, aroma diffuser, sound bowl placement, sign-in sheet, hands-on assist permission cards
- Class lesson planning and reporting/documentation
- Distributing periodic surveys and supporting advertisement efforts

Requirements

Preferred Qualities:

- Natural ability to connect with people

- Comfortable allowing officers to get acclimated to the class at their own pace

- Able to gauge and pace classes for beginner to intermediate level 

- Strong sequencing skills and verbal articulation for deepening postures

- Well-versed in conscious theories, philosophies, practices, and literature 

- Capable of creating a cohesive lesson plan; mindful discussions and physical embodiment


Certification Requirements:

- A minimum 200hr-RYT certification from a Yoga Alliance recognized RYS

- Certification in Vinyasa or Yin yoga

- 3+ years of teaching experience 

- Yoga instructor insurance is required

- Background check upon request

- Drug and alcohol-free teaching environment

About the Company

Thank you for your interest in joining the Police Enlightenment and Collective Education Program’s mission to support the well-being of police officers and the communities they serve. The program offers wellness courses promoting mindfulness, stress regulation, and deep recovery states for first responders. The P.E.A.C.E Program is currently offered in Houston Texas, however, instructors from other cities are welcome to complete an application for future hiring opportunities.
